Will I take my written and physical ability tests on the same day?
Law enforcement and corrections candidates are highly encouraged to take the written and physical ability exams on the same day when offered at our in-person test events. You may choose to take the PAT on a different day than your written exam for an additional fee. If testing in-home, please note that the PAT incurs a separate fee, even if it is taken on the same day as your written exam. Your PAT must be completed within 180 days, either before or after your written exam.
While firefighter written testing is offered at various locations around the region, the firefighter Candidate Physical Ability Test (CPAT), Orientations, and Practice CPATs are conducted at our CPAT Testing Training Centers in Tukwila and Spokane, WA. See our current Test & Event Calendar for dates/locations. Your CPAT must be completed within 180 days, either before or after your written exam.
