Which study materials should I purchase to prepare for the written exam?

When you register for a test, you will automatically receive a Test Introduction Guide in your account. We recommend you start there for details about the testing process, policy information, and some basic examples of the testing material. 

Additional study materials are available on our website here: PST Study Materials. These are the only materials we recommend, as they are created by the same company that develops our tests.

LEO/CO: We suggest starting with the Study Guide + Practice Test Form 1 (combo pack), which includes the Standard Study Guide and Practice Test Form 1—designed to be used together for the best preparation. All practice tests cover the same material, but each version uses different questions for extra practice. If you’d like more after completing Form 1, you can also purchase Form 2 or Form 3.

Fire: We suggest starting with the FST Combo Pack, which includes the Study Guide and Practice Test Form A—designed to be used together for the best preparation. All practice tests cover the same material, but each version uses different questions for extra practice. If you’d like more after completing Form A, you can also purchase Form B or Form C.

Dispatch: We offer a Study Guide in our online store to help you prepare for the exam. This material will include basic information about the exam as well as example questions for the different sections of the exam.
